  • What are the stars made from?
    We use 16 gauge mild steel and two coats of paint to make our regular stars. The bases are 12 gauge mild steel and also have two coats of paint. Our stainless steel stars and stainless steel bases are made from 16 gauge 304 stainless steel.
  • Can I get different colors or different finishes like powder coating?
    We currently only offer black paint. If you'd like to make a special order, shoot us an email at and let us know what you're looking for.
  • My stars got a little rusty, any recommendations?"
    You can clean up your stars with an angle grinder and a wire wheel, some steel wool, or any other light abrasive. Once clean, a couple of coats from a rattle can of paint and storing them in a dry place will keep them from getting rusty again.
  • What are the targets made out of?
    Our targets are made from Idaho pine trees, cut by a local timber mill. We shoot for 16"-18" in diameter, but they can be slightly larger or slightly smaller. Every target is as unique as the tree it was cut from.
  • Are cracks in the targets normal?
    A crack in your target is a normal part of the drying process. As the wood dries, the outer rings contract further than the inner rings. There are a few ways to keep them from cracking, but all require chemicals and are not cheap, so we keep the rounds 0'naturale. If your target arrives broken, or doesn't live up to your expectations, send us an email within 30 days with a couple of pictures of your target. Our email address is
  • My target is sticky, is that normal?"
    Yes it is, some of the logs we get have sap in the wood and will drip. It's a little sticky, but it's perfectly normal.
